B.C.'s top doctor says she won't make masks mandatory
British Columbia's provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says she won't be making masks mandatory. She says masks are already required on transit, ferries and community centres and busineses must protect their employees so the public should be wearing masks in restaurants and retail spaces. Henry says a mandatory mask policy would wrongly target the homeless and racialized communities. She says individual action is what will bend the curve on COVID-19 in B.C., which set a one-day record with 659 cases between Saturday and Sunday.
