B.C. coroner says 1,489 illicit overdose deaths in 2018, must do more to save lives
Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe says almost 1,500 people died of illicit overdose drug deaths last year. She says more must be done to save people. She says the 1,489 deaths in 2018 are more than the total combined deaths last year in motor vehicle accidents, homicides and suicides.
