Newsroom Ready: Candlelight vigil held for Ottawa victims of Iran plane crash
Hundreds braved frigid temperatures Thursday night on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to attend a sombre, silent candlelight vigil honouring the eight victims confirmed to have had ties to the capital. People laid flowers and candles in memory of their lost friends and family members. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a brief, low-key appearance. He laid a bouquet of white roses and a candle the makeshift memorial in front of the Centennial Flame, then left without saying a word.
