Trudeau says $19B going to provinces for COVID-19 aid
Six weeks after he said the federal government would give $14 billion to help provinces and territories resume economic activity during the pandemic, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a deal that ups the figure to $19 billion. It’s to fund paid sick leave for workers who otherwise don’t have any, support child-care centres and to prepare for a potential second wave of the pandemic.
