Newsroom Ready: Trudeau says promised benefits bump for seniors coming in early July
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says one-time increases to the federal government’s old-age security benefit and guaranteed income supplement are coming the week of July 6. Trudeau had promised the payments earlier, to help seniors with extra costs from the COVID-19 pandemic, such as having to pay delivery fees so they can avoid the risks of crowded stores.
