U.S. aluminum tariffs ‘ludicrous,’ Freeland says
Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland says the Trump administration’s decision to impose a new round of tariffs on Canadian aluminum will only hurt American consumers, and hurt the economic recovery on both sides of the border from the COVID-19 pandemic. She also says the government plans to impose $3.6 billion in retaliatory tariffs that will match dollar-for-dollar the value of American duties.
