Alberta premier reacts to letter calling for Ottawa to deny Teck project
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney is scoffing at a letter signed by dozens of Nobel prizewinners urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to deny approval to a massive oilsands project in Alberta. A decision on the $20.6-billion, 260,000-barrel-per-day project is supposed to come before the end of the month. Canadian author Alice Munro is among dozens of Nobel prizewinners urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to deny approval. Kenney told reporters in Calgary he suspects that the signatories were presented with a distorted view of the project.
