More remains found as helicopter search turns to recovery
A Canadian Forces warship formally ended its search on Friday for five lost crewmembers from a maritime helicopter crash off the coast of Greece. Six military personnel were aboard a Cyclone helicopter that went down in the Mediterranean as it was returning to the Halifax-based frigate, HMCS Fredericton, on Wednesday. Rear Adm. Craig Baines, the commander of the navy's maritime command, told reporters on a windswept pier in Halifax the decision to end the search "was not taken lightly."
