Hockey Canada has paid $7.6M in sexual abuse claims
Hockey Canada officials have told a House of Commons committee they have paid $7.6 million to settle nine sexual misconduct cases from their National Equity Fund since 1989.
In total, chief financial officer Brian Cairo says 21 claims have been made for sexual abuse or misconduct. Hockey Canada's insurance has paid out another $1.3 million in the other 12 cases.
