Singh pushes Liberals on paid sick leave for COVID-19
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh pushed the Liberals to do more about paid sick leave as he brought up the case of Emily Viegas, a 13-year-old girl who died from COVID-19 at her home in Brampton, Ont. He says he was unsatisfied with an earlier response in French because it did not mention the girl. Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough said the Liberal government has made paid sick a key public health measure. The House of Commons then observed a moment of silence in memory of Viegas.
