B.C.’s chief coroner Lisa Lapointe and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry mark the five-year anniversary of the declaration of a public health emergency in response to soaring deaths due to an increasingly toxic drug supply. They’re calling for compassion, greater health-care supports and expanded access to a safe supply of prescription alternatives.
