Newsroom Ready: Jane Philpott asks Liberals about help for Kashechewan First Nation
Independent MP Jane Philpott asks her former Liberal colleagues when the government will make a serious commitment to help relocate Kashechewan First Nation in northern Ontario, which deals with flooding every spring. Dan Vandal, Philpott’s parliamentary secretary when she was minister of Indigenous services, says plans for a permanent move are underway and officials are working with the First Nation to mitigate the threat of flooding.
