"Empire" series actor Jussie Smollett has been arrested and is facing a felony charge for filing a false police report. Chicago's police superintendent says Smollett staged a racist and homophobic attack because he was unhappy about his salary and wanted to promote his career. The 36-year-old turned himself in to the police early Thursday morning. In less than a month, Smollett changed from being the seemingly sympathetic victim of a hate crime to being accused of fabricating the entire thing. Smollett, who is openly gay, said he was attacked by two men who hurled racist and anti-gay slurs and looped a rope around his neck. The two men questioned as suspects are twins from Nigeria, one of which worked on "Empire."
