Travellers stranded after Iceland's WOW airline collapses
Air travellers have been left stranded after Icelandic budget airline WOW Air ceased operations. The airline informed passengers that there would be no further flights and advised them to check flights with other airlines for ways to reach their destinations. WOW Air began operations in 2012 and specialized in ultra-cheap flights from 27 airports between North America and Europe. WOW grounded at least six planes that were set to leave North American airports last night, including Toronto and Montreal. Tourism is Iceland's largest industry and WOW's disappearance is set to have an effect on this summer's high season. Sixty-two year-old Jamey Fierce, from Toronto, became stranded in Berlin and has been trying to figure out an affordable route to get home.
