After he stepped down, Hart posted a video explaining that he had grown since making the statements and apologized but he didn't want the controversy surrounding him to distract from the Oscars. Hart recently appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and talked about the situation DeGeneres posted a clip on Twitter from the episode. In the clip, DeGeneres admits that she personally called the Academy to reinstate Hart as host. Hart told her that "you have put a lot of things on my mind" and that he would think about their conversation.
