Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended the continued need for the controversial Emergencies Act ahead of a vote in the House of Commons on Monday. Trudeau said his government is assessing how long the powers granted by the act need to remain in place, but that they remain needed now despite the apparent end of the protest in Ottawa.
