UN Environment Program executive director Inger Andersen says the world is on the cusp of a major breakthrough to protect the planet from a growing scourge of plastic pollution.
She says a global plastics treaty must have a number of elements if it has any hope of limiting plastic waste including an agreement that single-use plastics and short-lived unnecessarily plastics are eliminated. (April 22, 2024)
