Scheer to Trudeau: 'Have the guts' to spell out plans to raise taxes
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is claiming that a Liberal-NDP "coalition" would have to increase the GST or do away entirely with social transfer payments to the provinces in order to finance what he calls massive, "never-ending" deficits — even though neither party has ever hinted at doing either. Scheer came under fire from reporters Friday for his line of attack, which he insisted was not misinformation, but rather a call to Justin Trudeau to be honest with Canadians about how he intends to finance his platform.
