Newsroom Ready: Pharmacare, Indigenous kids, Singh's priorities in new Parliament
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh laid down his first demands for the new minority Parliament Wednesday, following a meeting with his new caucus in Ottawa. Singh said he will introduce legislation to create national, single-payer pharmacare and encourage the Liberals to drop a legal challenge of the Human Rights Tribunal order regarding Indigenous kids in foster care. The NDP is also reflecting heavily on the losses in the recent campaign but Singh appears to still have support from many MPs who lost their seats.
